Media ecosystems are known to create and entrench polarization within our society. Platforms allow people to express and validate extreme opinions and false narratives, threatening the integrity of our democratic systems, and begging the question: Who is responsible for regulating free speech, and mitigating the circulation of mis/disinformation?
On Friday, November 25th, from 7-8 PM, the McGill Policy Association hosted a discussion on democracy, free speech regulation, and the responsibility of media organizations in an era of disinformation.
We were joined by MPP Students, Simon Topp and Aftab Ahmed.
